Week commencing Monday 5 July 2010
The next major phase of the project is about to begin.
We will start removing the silt from the lake to nearby arable land this week
and expect this to take about 5 weeks to complete.
During this time we are expecting a lot of disruption. There will be vehicles
transporting the silt along the drive through the deer park every 2 minutes Monday
to Friday, from 7am to 4pm.
We would strongly recommend that everyone parks at the Visitor Centre until the
silt removal is complete. Access to the lakeside will still be possible, but there
will be traffic controls in place and long delays are expected.
The tearoom will remain open as usual, and we’re also creating a temporary car
park in the field as you enter the park from Studley Roger. A minibus service
will be in operation to take people to the lakeside - or you're welcome to walk
through the deer park.
